Drain and sewer line clog clearing means physically removing the blockage inside a pipe – whether that's grease and food buildup in a kitchen line, hair and soap scum in a bathroom drain, or roots and debris that have worked into a main sewer line over the years. It's different work depending on where the clog sits, and treating a kitchen sink clog the same way you'd treat a main line backup usually means the problem comes right back within weeks.
The signs are usually hard to miss once they start. Slow-draining sinks or tubs that get worse over a few days, gurgling sounds coming from drains when other fixtures are used, multiple drains backing up at the same time, or water backing up into a lower-level fixture like a basement floor drain when you run the washing machine upstairs. That last one especially points toward a main line issue rather than a single fixture problem, and it needs a different approach entirely.
We start by figuring out where the clog actually sits before we touch anything – a single slow drain usually means a localized clog, while multiple fixtures backing up together points toward the main line. For most fixture-level clogs, we use a drain snake or auger to physically break up and clear the blockage. For main line clogs, especially ones involving roots or years of buildup, we typically bring in a sewer camera first to see exactly what we're dealing with, then use hydro-jetting or heavier-duty augering equipment to clear the line completely rather than just punching a hole through the blockage.
Cost depends mostly on where the clog is and what's causing it. A single bathroom sink clog is quick, straightforward work. A main sewer line with root intrusion or years of grease buildup takes longer, sometimes needs camera inspection to locate the problem accurately, and may require heavier equipment like a hydro-jetter to actually clear it rather than just relieving pressure temporarily. Access to cleanouts in Unity, OR properties also affects how quickly we can get equipment where it needs to be.
